We only spent a few hours here but oh, my they were happy hours! We ate at the little park restaurant–three of us devouring bacon cheeseburgers with AMAZING fries while the littlest of our crew slurped her beloved chicken noodle soup. She pointed out it was still not as good as Belle’s mom’s soup but…it was certainly edible as testified by her insistence on carrying the bowl out of the restaurant with us to finish drinking all the broth as we began our climb.
We breathed in three more glorious waterfalls during our visit–the upper, middle (my fav) and lower falls were all worth the hike to get to them. A cool, light mist fell on us as we explored. The trails were so muddy and the mud such a consistency that it sucked our shoes and threatened to pull them right off. We slipped and slimed our way all over the place while Danny snapped photos. Found Paige walking on a stone wall which served as the railing for a bridge over a 100-foot drop into the river below. Just a typical day on the road with the Wellmans…
Anyway, see what we saw?
Yes! One of my happy places. The day we were there, a flock of pigeons danced in perfect synchronisation over those falls. Spectacular! You are helping me relive those glorious days.
New England holds so many wonders. Thanks for sharing your journey.
