Swimming with the Fishes

While in Corpus, we visited the Texas State Aquarium. While the Gulf has shared wild dolphins with us before, we had never seen a trained team until this day. We also took a behind-the-scenes tour and stood over the giant tanks where eels and sea turtles swirl around all day. We learned about the life cycles of jellyfish and laughed at my favorites–the otters. It was a glorious day–one where despite being able to still smell the ocean, I didn’t mind missing out on the beach.

  1. I love the Kemps Ridley seaturtle with the partial flapper! One of my friends used to be a turtle spotter at Malaquite during nesting season.
